U2 360 Tour in Salt Lake City
I was one of 50,000 people (mostly old gomers like me) who packed into the Rice-Eccles stadium on the University of Utah campus in Salt Lake City for the U2 360 Tour May 24, 2011. And while I’ve seen U2 before (and many other shows in my “concert career”), I have to say that this show was unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. Everything–lights, sound, stage, video effects, pre-produced video, more…–was bigger, more over-the-top, theatrical, and impactful than any live show I’ve seen to date. The video display, complete with expand and collapse functionality, was amazing. Fifty one (51) songs played–including the best Sunday Bloody Sunday I’ve ever heard from any audio recording or live show). Two (2) encores. Epic.
If you have a chance to see the show, SIMPLY GO!
