Is emulation on Linux “saving” the Palm OS?
As you can tell from my heading, I don’t have a lot of faith that Linux will save the Palm OS. Actually, I think the end result will be an entirely new OS that will preserve the legacy of applications…
Wish computer was as easy to use as my phone…
This was all too close to hitting home for me when I read it, so I had to post:”I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone…. I no longer know how to use my telephone.
My latest gadget — Nokia E61
Couldn’t help it. I had to. My current phone is so OLD…it’s been with me now for about 20 months. Plus I had the $%&# Treo reboot just one too many times during a call last week. I was way past due to upgrade. I’ve been watching the E61 since it was announced last fall. […]
Reading into the future of Tech
For the economist, futurist, visionaries out there seeking all truth and knowledge in where technology is heading, I think Tim O’Reilly is on to something big. O’Reilly is tracking book sales on tech topics and leveraging this data to see the shifts in market interest. Brilliant. Kinda like dah. The coolest part is that this […]
Gleeful about my new MacBook Pro
I said I was going to do it. And I did. Tonight I added yet another computing device to the family. A sleek, silver MacBook Pro. Specs: 15.4-inch TFT display with 1440×900 resolution 2.0GHz Intel Core Duo with 2MB shared L2 Cache (1) 667MHz frontside bus 1GB (single SO-DIMM) 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM 100GB 5400rpm Serial […]

It’s cool that Windows can run on the best industrial designed hardware. But we’re overlooking the OS. When will OS X run on a Lenovo ThinkPad or a Dell […]
When does a dog become too old to learn new tricks?
It’s just a few short months before my 40th birthday. I like to think I’m still hip and young. I’ve tried to keep up on trends. Try new music. Try to be the first to find and try new things. However, the fact remains the same: I’m on unavoidable collision with a birthday. In my […]
Google Calendar — CL2 — global calendar and event sharing
Reading the post today about the forthcoming Google Calendar — or CL2 as its being called — on TechCrunch, was like a flashback to my first time using the SalesLogix calendar, only better. I spent 4+ years at SalesLogix, now a division of Best Software. I joined as director of product marketing and worked under […]
PalmSource migration to Linux
I was happy to read the PalmSource announcement that Linux will be the next platform for Palm OS-based smartphones. I think this is a good thing. It should attract a huge audience of developers who have been struggling to find sanity and direction in Palm OS land. Hopefully the manufacturers and carriers can come together […]
